The Asker and Bærum Fire and Rescue Services IMC (ABBR) has six manned stations (three in Asker and three in Bærum). The Asker Fire Station is ABBR's main station.

The Asker and Bærum Fire Department IMC (ABBV) has six manned stations (one in Asker and three in Bærum). The Asker Fire Station is ABBV’s main station.

In addition to the emergency response crew, most of the ABBR’s executive command is stationed here. Our fire prevention, administration and marketing departments are also stationed at the Asker Fire Station.

Staffing

The Asker Fire Station has 4 firefighting crews on-duty. There will always be 5 firefighters at the Asker Fire Station, day or night. The firefighters man the station’s fire truck and water tender. These vehicles are on standby for both municipalities. The station is also equipped with a special firefighting vehicle, called the Argo. It is specially designed to deal with railway incidents and can drive on railway tracks. The Asker Fire Station also has a lightweight boat (RIB) that is used if a fire breaks out on an island, or for rescue operations along the coast or on a lake.

Equipment rental
The public can also contact the Asker Fire Station about renting life jackets, moving straps, electric
pumps and plumber’s snakes. Opening hours for collecting and returning rented equipment are from 10:00 to 19:00 every day

The Gjettum Fire Station has 4 crews, and there is always one crew of 4 firefighters on duty. The crew is responsible for the station’s fire truck. The station also has a vehicle for responding to forest fires, which is used if a fire breaks out in wilderness areas.

Bekkestua Fire Station

The emergency preparedness division is also located at the Bekkestua Fire Station, along with the emergency response crew. The fire prevention department, vehicle workshop, hose workshop and civil defence warehouse are also stationed here.

Staffing

The Bekkestua Fire Station has 4 crews, and there is always a crew of 5 firefighters on duty. The firefighters man the station’s fire truck, hook-and-ladder/aerial vehicle and rescue vehicle. All these vehicles are on standby for both municipalities. The station also functions as the depot yard for materiel and equipment used during major and persistent fires or other incidents. The depot contains food and water for the crews, extra operational and rescue equipment, smoke diving equipment and extra firefighting materiel.

Staffing

The Fornebu Fire Station has 4 firefighting crews, and there is always one crew of 4 firefighters on duty. The crew is responsible for the station’s fire truck and fire boat. The crew at the Fornebu Fire Station is also trained in surface water search and rescue. Surface water search and rescue entails the use of drysuits, life jackets, dive masks and snorkels to carry out sea, lake and river searches from the water surface.
